Embellish opened in May, 2006 and is making a name for itself as a source of eclectic and unique decorating and gift ideas with reasonable prices.  Owner Betty Lewis Smith left the corporate world to open Embellish. "I buy items that appeal to me esthetically. My decorating style is to mix and match many different styles, with color as the main driver.  If an item’s color is appealing, I will find a way to incorporate it into a space."

Another goal was to provide a venue for area artists to market their crafts.  To that end,  several select local artists are represented, including Donna Silvestri (OnU), and Judith Brown (FAE), Caroline Cox; Jan Russell, weaver; Beverly Murphey, stained glass, and others.
